There have been some cases recently, people called the trial of the century
There have been some cases recently, people called the trial of the century
One was OJ, one was Clinton, one posed the question of evolution
But their time in the limelight is done, for this was the trial of the millennium

Two judges faced each other for an unusual affair
You see they both were arrested for drunken behavior out in the public square
With a sly wink to each other, one of them took to the judge's bench
And said, "Let's try each other's case. Order in the court! Let the trial commence"

"Tell me, tell me, tell me your honor," said his honor to his accused
And as his honor replies to his honor, the trial of the millennium ensues

The first of the two trials went swiftly, of course, and every step was smooth
For when one judge judges another, you might ask, "How could either one lose?"
So after hearing from the policeman, and the defense had its time
The presiding judge told the defending judge, "That will be a five dollar fine"

"Tell me, tell me, tell me your honor," said his honor to his accused
And as his honor replies to his honor, the trial of the millennium continues

You might predict there will be no surprise, when the two judges are reversed
You might suggest I save us all some time, and simply sing the previous verse
Ah, but sometimes the predictable, takes an unpredictable twist
Stick around for one more chorus, and hear what happened next was this:

"Tell me, tell me, tell me your honor," said his honor to his accused
And as his honor replies to his honor, the trial of the millennium concludes

Judge number two paid his five dollars, to judge number one as he stepped down
And judge one kept the money in his hand thinking to exchange it back around
But suddenly the second judge became angry, and his defendant turned quite pale
When the judge who he fined five dollars, sentenced him with twenty days in jail

"Tell me, tell me your honor, why did you betray me?" The judge answered in this way
"I must make you an example, it's the second case of this we've seen in the court today!"
